Volkswagen Passat maintenance Schedule

The maintenance schedule for your Volkswagen Passat will vary depending on the year, engine, transmission system, and other vehicle features. For the purposes of this schedule, we focus on a 2015 Passat with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine and an automatic transmission so drivers from across the Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Newport Beach area can get an idea of when their vehicle might need servicing.

If you think that your Passat is due for routine maintenance, you can always double check by contacting our service department at Norm Reeves Volkswagen Superstore in Irvine. Plus, at the end of this schedule, we’ll tell you how you can find a more detailed service interval guide specific to your Volkswagen model.

Passat Recommended Maintenance at 10, 000 Miles

This is probably the first big maintenance interval for most Volkswagen Passat models. During this service appointment, the VW technician will replace the engine oil and the engine oil filter. They will also inspect the airbag system, brake pads, rear window, and other basic systems.

One of the last things that you’ll probably need by this interval is a tire rotation. The technician will rotate the front tires to the rear to promote even wear among all four tires.

20, 000-Mile Service Interval

By now, you’ve probably made a lot of great memories with your Passat and the best way to ensure more to come is to follow the maintenance schedule. In addition to most of the service you received at the 10, 000-mile mark, there are a few new services that your vehicle will need.

The first is a thorough inspection of the tires to make sure that they’re still functioning properly. From there, the technician will also inspect the entire braking system (not just the brake pads) and the battery. The last thing they’ll do is replace the dust and pollen filter to help the cabin air stay fresh and clean.

Routine Maintenance at 30, 000 Miles

This service interval for your Passat follows the same work done during the 10, 000-mile interval. It’s important to continue having regular inspections and maintenance like this performed to keep your Passat running at its best.

Neglecting to have your vehicle serviced according to manufacturer recommendations could void the vehicle’s warranty or result in unnecessary system failures. So make sure you stay up-to-date on all of your regularly scheduled maintenance.
